Sick Policy Information
You may bring your child to
daycare if s/he has common cold symptoms, such as a slight cough, sneezing or a runny nose; however, s/he should feel well enough to participate in our
daily activities. If your child is miserable, you should keep him or her home.
Under no circumstances should you bring a child to daycare with any of the following:

A fever of 100 or higher. Your child must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the aid of medication before
returning.

Diarrhea.
Your child must be symptom free for at least 48 hours without the aid of
medication before returning.

Vomiting.
Your child must be symptom free for at least 48 hours without the aid of
medication before returning.
·
Discharge from eyes or ears. Your child must be symptom free for at least 24
hours without the aid of medication before returning.
·
Rash. Rashes must be cleared up or fully scabbed over before returning.
·
Lice. Your
child must be treated and all nits removed before returning.
·
Communicable diseases, including chicken pox, mumps,
measles, whooping cough, conjunctivitis (pink eye) and influenza. Your child may return once the incubation and
contagious period have passed and he or she feels well enough to participate in
daily activities.
I reserve the right to
refuse care for a sick child. If your child develops any of the above symptoms
in my care, you or someone you designate must pick up the child immediately. If
your child is not picked up within one hour, I will charge $5 for every 15
minutes until s/he is retrieved. If your child is sent home, s/he will not be
able to return the following day. Because I care for other children, I must
strictly adhere to the Health Department regulations and insist that all
children be symptom free without the aid of medication for at least 24 hours
